India’s first 3G Mobile service operator Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) is going to simplify the 3G Mobile and Data card setting process by providing common Access Point Name (APN) for its prepaid and postpaid customers in Mumbai and Delhi circle. Mostly MTNL promptly set the internet settings when you insert your SIM card for the very first time, but sometimes they are not able to deliver internet settings on your phone. And sometimes, the settings sent by MTNL refuse to get your phone connected to the internet. That is when we need to set Manual internet configurations by going to the settings of your phone

You can also manually set the MTNL 2G /3G /GPRS settings on your phone by using the following information.

1) In order to set internet settings for MTNL by APN, Go to Settings-> General Settings-> Network->Turn ON Cellular Data-> Cellular Network -> APN and enter the following Details

Username MTNL
Password mtnl123
Authentication type normal
Proxy Enable
Proxy address
Port 9401
Connection type permanent
Security off

Don’t add anything to the fields Proxy, Port, Username, Password, Server, MMS Proxy, MMS Port, DNS1, and DNS2.

2) Search for your MCC and MNC code for your respective area from table listed below and Enter in the field.

MTNL: Circle Wise MCC & MNC Codes

Telecom Circle MCC MNC
Delhi Metro & NCR 404 68
Mumbai Metro 404 69

3) Now save the settings by pressing the menu button and restart your phone. Now you have successfully activated internet on your Phone.
